On Saturday 6 December, we joined forces with another local charity, Holly’s Hearts, to together host a magical Christmas party for children undergoing cancer treatment at The Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital.
It was a rare and joyful break from treatment for these children and their families – a day filled with festive fun, laughter, and love. The event included a 30-strong choir, a mini pantomime, super heroes, Star Wars characters, princesses, a Taylor Swift impersonator, students from the Royal Northern College of Music and a Santa’s Grotto. Phew!
Companies from around Manchester donated money, countless gifts, and support to help us put together this wonderful event. And a special thank you goes to our corporate sponsor, Bruntwood SciTech, who really went above and beyond to help pull together this fantastic day.
We even had a visit from the lovely crew at BBC North West (see footage opposite) who spoke to families and volunteers throughout the day to capture the magic, and to show what an event like this means to families who are spending Christmas in treatment.
A huge thank you also to all our wonderful volunteers, who gave their time and energy to make this day so special.
Thank you again to everyone who made this celebration possible – you helped create memories that will last forever.
